Leveraging User Experience (UX) Research to Improve Canvas Course Design

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

While user experience (UX) research would seem to be a natural fit for online learning, rigorous UX work is typically not our focus. Join us as we discuss our exploration using Think Aloud Observations with 19 individual students as they attempted to complete typical course-related tasks within Canvas. We will discuss design suggestions based on the navigation experiences of the individual students and describe the Think Aloud approach.

Attendees will understand:

  • the importance of UX research for online learning;
  • specific findings from this study pertaining to course design in Canvas; and
  • the Think Aloud methods used in this study.
